My new favorite sandwich shop. Try the turkey. And add dorados (turkey cracklings). But do yourself a favor. Try the non-turkey options. I had a bacalo sandwich that had thw perfect degree of salt and nice chunky olives. After that, a turkey sandwich, and a turkey taco, i had no room for the goat or pork options, but i can o ly imagine...

Excellent non-expensive food. Try the turkey torta with turkey chicharron, with some of the delicious chiles en rajas at the center of every table. It can get very crowded, though, so plan ahead.
We grabbed the turkey tortas on recommendation with all the fixings. You will not be disappointed. So good. I only wish I had bought extra (as we did take away). Very quick service & great value.

Turkey on tap in Mexico City’s Historic District! Surrounded by gold and jewelry stores a plenty, El Rey del Pavo is sweet little nook of a restaurant serving up, of all things, TURKEY! There are a number of options ranging from soups, tacos to assorted plates, all featuring turkey! With each offering, you’re given the option of choosing your cut of meat as well, be it breast, thigh or leg. So for myself and the rest of the dark meat lovers out there...worry not! My buddy and I went with a couple of tacos. We mixed white and dark meat on our first and topped it with crispy turkey skin...a must. The second was adobado style and was equally delicious. Definitely check them out!
Great place at Downtown Mexico City. The turkey tortas with guacamole are excellent, two will definitely get the job done. Also the “aguas de frutas” are tasty and fresh. I highly recommend it if you’re near the Zocalo.
